Like every element in the home, window cleaning requires specific care to guarantee longevity and keep functionality as good as the first day.

Items that should NOT be used: sharp tools such as knives, spatulas, steel wool or abrasive sponges.
Aggressive bathroom cleaners or lacquer solvents should also be avoided, as they can cause permanent damage.
Items that SHOULD be used: warm water with 2% neutral soap, a soft sponge, drying cloth or absorbent paper.
Hot steam cleaning machines may also be used.
Interior areas
Use some type of suction to remove dust and foreign bodies accumulated around the gaskets and in the chamber between frame and sash. A brush or paintbrush may also be useful.
Lubricate friction elements such as hinges, handles, locks and other mechanisms.
Return corners do not need this, as they contain permanent grease.
It is advisable to repeat this operation every six months after the first time.
Profiles and glass
Soak a soft sponge in warm water with neutral soap and gently rub the frames, both outside and inside, and the glass.
Then use an absorbent cloth to remove soap and water residues. Finally, use a dry cloth or kitchen paper to complete cleaning and drying.
Warm water with neutral soap may be replaced by steam cleaning.
It is advisable to repeat this operation monthly on each window.
Notes
In areas close to motorways, the seafront or industrial zones, window maintenance recommendations should be carried out more frequently.
Before starting any building work near a window, protect it from the dirt that the work may generate.
Use plastic sheeting and protective tapes to protect the windows.
