Profile system
PVC systems can differ in construction depth, internal geometry, frame and sash design, gaskets, reinforcement strategy and glazing capacity. Chamber count is only one detail and should not replace whole-window performance data.
Reinforcement and stability
Depending on the system, dimensions and configuration, reinforcement elements can be used to provide the required stability and support for hardware. Compare complete, dimensioned configurations rather than an isolated profile cross-section.
Glazing and double or triple units
Glazing strongly influences thermal, acoustic and solar comfort. PVC windows can combine double or triple glazing, low-e coatings, solar control, laminated and acoustic glass, different cavities and insulating gases.
Triple glazing is not automatically the best choice for every project; it changes weight and other design requirements. The complete window and the actual need should guide the decision.
Opening type and performance
Casement, tilt-and-turn, fixed and multi-sash arrangements behave differently in ventilation, sealing and use. For thermal comparison, distinguish Uf for the frame, Ug for the glass and Uw for the complete window. Acoustic performance also depends on glazing, seals, closing pressure, dimensions and sash layout.
Finishes, shutters and boxes
PVC systems can offer white, coloured, wood-effect and different interior/exterior finishes. If a shutter is included, its box is part of the building envelope and should be considered together with the window when comparing solutions.
